Lighting is one of the most important design elements in a room. Not only does it provide a functional purpose to allow us to see things better, but it adds another layer to a space adding a bit of character and glamour. The right lighting can complete the look of a room the same way a beautiful accessory can pull together an outfit.
While browsing Anthropologie's website, I spotted this intricately crafted Rhododendron Chandelier made of a cluster of paper flowers. I love the organic look, the fine detail of the texture and how it is a neutral piece that will work in any room. I am sure it would look lovely and provide a soft glow in a bedroom, foyer, restaurant or hotel reception area.
This next piece is a real beauty - a true work of art. Just a few days ago I was flipping through the latest issue of Architectural Digest and laid my eyes on this glowing Muriel Chandelier by Oly Studio. It has not left my mind since the moment I saw it.
Lastly, there's this chandelier that I have been dying to find out the name of and just came across recently. I first spotted this Pipa Bowl Chandelier at Joie on Madison Avenue in New York - a boutique store designed by the talented Ryan Korban. The store has this light and airy feel which envelops you as soon as you step in the front door and one cannot help but notice these stunning cast pierced resin chandeliers with its pretty white loop pattern and brass chain. This is a versatile fixture that can look great in any space..in a room full of bright colors and eclectic artwork or a very minimalist space with organic wood pieces and natural fabrics.
